About the Presenters
Emma D. Becker
Emma Becker works with families and individuals on issues and concerns related to preserving, enhancing and transferring family wealth. With sensitivity and attention to her clients’ interests, She designs and drafts estate plans that minimize federal and state estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes, and maximize and protect the clients’ wealth for each subsequent generation. Becker also works creatively to help clients transfer wealth during life to minimize gift and estate taxes, using a range of strategies including grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable lead and charitable remainder trusts, and qualified personal residence trusts. In addition, she assists clients with the administration of estates and the probate process. Becker earned an A.B. cum laude from Amherst College and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
Renée A. R. Evangelista
Renée Evangelista provides clients with sophisticated estate planning and estate settlement techniques to save clients gift, estate and income taxes, while ensuring that their property passes according to their wishes. She is a trustee of numerous private trusts and has routinely served as executor of client estates. Renée regularly appears in Superior Court, representing trustees and trust beneficiaries on accounting actions and trust reformations. Evangelista earned an A.B. from Brown University and J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Leigh E. Furtado
Leigh Furtado advises clients on all stages of estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration. She is also a member of the firm’s Tax-Exempt Organizations and Charitable Giving practice group. Furtado works with clients to develop personalized and tax-efficient estate plans which accomplish their family, business and charitable goals. She also serves as trustee, advises trustees on fiduciary duties and manages complex trust administration matters. She earned her B.A., honors, from McGill University and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
