We strive to inspire support for URI while helping alumni connect with one another locally and globally through diverse programming—and 2023 was buzzing with activity. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends, we supported students through scholarships, funded faculty research, and provided new and exciting opportunities for Rhody Rams all over the world.
Just a Few of the Many Highlights
- From Kingston to California, alumni and friends connected at more than 100 meetups and activities set up by the URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement.
- New College of Business Dean Sean Edmund Rogers took to the road to talk with alumni and to close out celebrations for the college’s 100th anniversary.
- URI’s global alumni network continued to grow, with Rhody ambassadors in over 20 countries.
- International Engineering Program alumni now working in Germany came back to visit the Kingston Campus over the summer.
- Homecoming Weekend brought Rhody Rams back to campus as the leaves started to change. In addition to football, tailgating, and the signature Rhodyville Block Party, the weekend featured eight reunions and a host of other events.
- Alumni helped the College of Arts and Sciences celebrate their 75th anniversary throughout the fall by joining extraordinary faculty as they discussed their work in the fields of photography, music, and theatre.
2023 was also a year of milestones, including a record-breaking $2 million for URI Day of Giving that will fuel student success in the year to come. Big Ideas. Bold Plans. The Campaign for the University of Rhode Island continues efforts to give hard-working students and top scholars opportunities to make their dreams come true. Entering the final months of the campaign, the Rhody community has made incredible progress, nearly reaching the $300 million goal. We still have work to do!
From happy hours to career panels, reunions to international meetups—you can always find a little piece of Rhody wherever you are in the world.
